I offered to watch Nikki Newbrough’s dog, Oscar, again this week so Teddy could play with his littermate.
My parents were also curious to see Teddy and Oscar interact, so we decided to take a road trip up to Oelwein. The four of us (Cubbie, Teddy, Oscar and I) piled in the car.
I love sitting outside at my parent’s house because they have a beautiful screened in deck and a gorgeous yard that’s fenced in.
The boys played with toys, chewed on sticks, ran around the yard and just relaxed in the grass. It was a perfect day to be outside, and we were there for about five hours!
Cubbie and Teddy have mastered the doggy door (thanks to my dad), but Oscar wasn’t so sure about it. My dad worked with him, but he was still very hesitant. He kept watching Cubbie and Teddy use it, and looked as if he wanted to go through. By the end of the day he was starting to go through it more, but he wasn’t running through it like Cubbie and Teddy. Maybe next time he will be a pro! Either way, he still had fun both inside and outside the screened in area.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching all three dogs play tug-of-war.
After Cubbie (six years older than these pups) got tired, Teddy and Oscar continued to wrestle around the yard.
At one point, Teddy and Oscar picked up a chunk of grass and played with that!
Overall, it was such a fun afternoon watching the dogs play nonstop. Just a great day to be outside!
This is one of my favorite photos from the day. I love how Cubbie is exhausted, and Teddy and Oscar are still going strong exploring the yard. Teddy and Oscar do so many of the same things, I just have to laugh.
We dropped Oscar back home around 6:30 p.m., and Cubbie and Teddy were ready to sleep for the rest of the night!
