I’ve been working with Brenda at Lamar Advertising for a billboard for the Cubbie Tails Dog Day at the Ballpark with the Waterloo Bucks on June 23rd.
I really can’t say enough good things about the process, and how much Lamar Advertising was willing to work with me to make this happen. A significant portion of the cost/labor was donated, and I can’t thank Lamar Advertising enough.
Once the design was finalized, I knew the billboard would go up around May 27th for four weeks. I also knew it would be in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area, but I didn’t have an exactly location because the deal was it would go wherever there was available space. I was just grateful for anything!
On Tuesday, May 28th my parents were in town and my mom and I were driving to go get supper when I looked up and saw the Dog Day at the Ballpark billboard. My mom and I were in mid-conversation when I practically shouted, “Oh my gosh! There’s the billboard!”
It’s right along University Avenue in Waterloo, by the Casey’s (great spot). We were so excited, we went and got supper and on the way back we stopped at Casey’s so I could take some pictures. (Yes, I’m that person who takes pictures of a billboard).
I’m very biased, but I think my boys look great on a billboard! I spent Tuesday night texting the pictures I took to my brothers and some friends.
It was so great and odd seeing my dogs on a billboard! I really appreciate the Waterloo Bucks teaming up with me yet again for the event. I hope this helps spread the word on the fundraiser. All proceeds are staying local, benefitting animals organizations in the Cedar Valley area.
A few of my friends have also seen the billboard pop up in Cedar Falls on West 1st Street/Highway 57 on the digital billboard.
In addition to the billboard, I also got some great news from the Walmart Grand Foundation with a $500 donation to the Cubbie Tails Dog Day at the Ballpark event. So we’re already off to a great start!
